Downton Abbey is a highly successful British period drama television series created by Julian Fellowes and co-produced by Masterpiece and Carnival Films, of which Neame is a managing director. The gripping drama set in the post Edwardian era first aired in the United Kingdom in September, 2010, and then came to capture the American audience in January, 2011 on PBS.
